*ATTENTION*

In recent weeks we have received several calls direct to the fire station to report of potential incidents and emergencies.

Please remember, always call 999 in an emergency.
It’s the quickest, safest, and most reliable way to get help from services like Cornwall Fire & Rescue.

When you call 999, your call goes straight to the emergency control center. They can:

Dispatch the nearest available crews.
Send multiple appliances if needed.
Coordinate with police and ambulance at the same time.

If you ring a station directly, there may be no one there to answer and in an emergency every second counts.

Please join us in welcoming our new fire investigation dog Smokey!!!

He may seem like an ordinary pet dog, but his exceptional abilities make him invaluable in identifying substances that can ignite fires.

Specially trained to detect various ignitable substances, our four-legged friends play a crucial role in criminal investigations, helping to determine if a fire was deliberately started.

A huge thank you to all the children in year 5 and 6 at Nansledan School for all of their fantastic artwork. We are truly blown away by each and every single one.

Green watch from Newquay recently visited the school to present a water safety talk highlighting the dangers around open water and what to do and who to call in an emergency. This talk came after 8 new open water ponds were built in and around Nansledan.

We asked the children to design some posters and hopefully in the near future some of these amazing pieces of artwork will be found around these new ponds highlighting the what 3 words location for each pond.

Stay tuned for more info on this soon!!!!

Again thank you to each and every student who designed a poster and to the staff at the school for all their assistance.

A big thank you to the owners of One Pentire for allowing us use of their building for our exercise last night. And a big thanks to Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service Fire Control for their assistance as well.

The exercise was a big success with crew members working hard throughout the exercise. Many valuable learning points were taken from the exercise.

A reminder that we are running an exercise this evening. 🚒

🚒*EXERCISE*🚒

We are planning an exercise at One Pentire on March 25th 2026 between the hours of 6pm and 9pm.

There will be several fire appliances and firefighters in the area but please do not be alarmed.

These exercises allow us to maintain operational readiness, test emergency response plans and improve teamwork and communication skills. Exercises allow us to train under realistic conditions, identify areas for improvement and ensure we are prepared to handle a wide range of incidents effectively.

A big thank you to Start & Co Estate Agents, Newquay, for kindly allowing Green Watch to use the Chester Road Market building this morning for a Breathing Apparatus (BA) drill.

BA drills are a vital part of our training, helping firefighters practise working safely in smoke-filled and low-visibility environments, improving teamwork, communication, and search techniques in realistic conditions.

To simulate low visibility, BA wearers had obscuration masks attached to their masks to simulate being in a smoke filled environment

We really appreciate the support from local businesses that helps us stay prepared to protect our community. 🚒
