We were named regional champion for our groundbreaking Outโ€‘ofโ€‘Hospital Cardiac Arrest (OHCA) Survival Improvement Programme and tonight will find out whether we are also taking home the national award!

The programme includes support from partners including Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, Hovertravel and many more, all working together to improve survival and the support available to survivors of cardiac arrest.

We kick started National Volunteers' Week on Monday evening at our quarterly meeting with a celebration of our fantastic volunteers and all they do to assist us and our patients.

Victoria White, Director of Ambulance, also thanked the volunteers for their valuable contribution to the ambulance service.

The Ambulance Service has 54 volunteers who offer varying supportive roles from auditing to driving, assisting at events and first responding, each making a difference.

Thank you Joe for all you do to support our teams ๐Ÿ‘

The Isle of Wight has seen temperatures of more than 25 degrees this weekend, and we are sure many of you are out enjoying the sunshine!

However, we want you to remember the importance of staying safe in the heat and hopefully avoiding a trip to our Emergency Department (ED), so we've shared some top tips.

Dehydration can be one of the main causes of ED attendance during peak temperatures, so remember to drink plenty of fluids. And we know that sunshine calls for a BBQ, but stay safe around any open flame or hot utensils. If you do receive a burn that requires medical attention, our Urgent Treatment Centres will be able to help.
