🌟 Last week was Volunteers' Week, and our Executive Team had the opportunity to shadow some of our incredible volunteers across the hospital to see first-hand the difference they make every day. πŸ’™

Victoria White, Director of Ambulance Services, spent time with Cherry, who has been volunteering on her ward for more than four years. From supporting tea rounds and helping patients, to providing companionship for those without visitors, Cherry demonstrated the vital role volunteers play in enhancing the experience of patients, families and staff. 🀝

Reflecting on the visit, Victoria said: "What really stood out was how much Cherry's presence enhances the ward environment. She provides valuable time, responsiveness and human interaction for patients, while helping staff focus on their core roles." πŸ’¬

πŸ‘ A huge thank you to all of our volunteers for the kindness and dedication they bring to our hospital every day. πŸ’™

Yesterday, we celebrated the 10th Biomedical Science Day to recognise the incredible contribution our biomedical scientists and laboratory teams make to patient care every day.

From processing and analysing samples to supporting diagnosis, treatment and monitoring, our laboratory colleagues play a vital role behind the scenes in delivering safe, effective care for our patients.

The day was marked with displays, competitions, educational activities and laboratory tours, giving colleagues and visitors the opportunity to learn more about the important work of the service.

A huge thank you to all our biomedical scientists and laboratory teams for their expertise, dedication and commitment.
