Folktastic Isle
We are very excited to have a fabulous exhibition coming to Lord Louis Library, Newport, next week (8-15 September)!
New Carnival present ‘Folktastic Isle’ an exhibition exploring the Isle of Wight's folk heritage, the art of the people. Among other exhibits see replicas of a roman hare brooch and the neolithic flint tribrach. No booking required - just pop in!
On Saturday 12 September there are two great activities for families:
11am 12pm -Storytelling workshop. Hear about unique island stories and legends, in an interactive workshop. Find out about a Roman River sprite and who is Brading Roman Villa's 'Gallus' character? What is the significance of a running hare? Create a mosaic. Suited to children aged 5-12 years, no unaccompanied children.
1-2pm - Magic Show based on the ghost ship HMS Eurydice; an eyewitness account! All welcome, suitable for all ages.
Both of these activities are free but please book here in advance: https://newcarnival.co.uk
