Introducing GenieConnect! https://www.firstcitynursing.co.uk/pages/genie-connect

Genie is a friendly, easy-to-use companion that helps us stay in touch between visits, offering gentle check-ins, reminders and conversation, all supported by our care teams.

Genie doesn’t replace face-to-face care and it isn’t about monitoring. Instead, it adds an extra layer of support in helping people feel reassured, confident and less alone, while continuing to live independently in their own home.

For families and loved ones, Genie provides peace of mind, knowing there is regular contact and that our teams can respond quickly if needs change.

Every use of Genie is carefully considered, supported by trained professionals and reviewed as part of an individual care plan.

Care should always feel personal, respectful and human and that’s exactly how we use Genie.

GenieConnect is here to provide virtual care. It’s a friendly, easy-to-use companion that supports people at home through regular check-ins, reminders and interaction, working alongside our care teams rather than replacing them.

Genie allows us to stay connected between visits, offering reassurance, structure and support while keeping care personal and human.

Unsure if care work is the right fit for you?

Maybe you’ve thought “I couldn’t do that…”
Maybe it’s the personal care that makes you hesitate.
Or maybe you’ve simply never considered yourself as someone who would work in care.

But what if you could?

We asked one of our Team Leaders what they would say to someone thinking about starting a career in care — and their answer might make you look at the role a little differently.

“I would say to give it a chance, it’s quite normal to feel unsure if it’s the right fit as it can come across as challenging, however, it is nothing but rewarding.
There's a few things I would advise to someone who is new starting in the care industry. Within care, you're not expected to know everything immediately, I found you really learn whilst working. Don't ever hesitate to ask questions and always treat everyone with dignity and respect.”

Don’t decide you couldn’t do it before you’ve found out what it’s really like.

Talk to our team, ask the questions you’re thinking about and see where the conversation takes you.

Could care be the right fit for you?
