Fear not If the Rainbows and Brownies are about.

Newport's Rainbows and Brownies are now Fire Safety experts, and know exactly what to do in an emergency.

During their visit to Newport Fire Station, the group learned all about fire safety, smoke alarms, how to get help, and most importantly - had great fun spraying lots of water and enjoyed a special tour around our fire engine.

Thanks Rainbows and Brownies for your enthusiasm and the impressive drawings which are now proudly displayed on our wall!

Today, we spent the day with Stansted Airport Fire Service for some valuable training and to gain more familiarity with aircraft related incidents. ✈️ 🚒

Together we proved our ability to collaborate for effective firefighting at an Airport Incident and utilise each other for unique skill sets.

The day has been a great success and we were able to learn so much from our airport colleagues. Many thanks to all the crew at Stansted Airport Fire for the incredible training and for making us so welcome. 🧑‍🚒🔥

We are devastated to learn of the death of Robert Hammond, better known as Bob, who gave well in excess of 30 years dedicated service to Newport Fire Station.

To his beloved wife Mandy, his daughter Hannah & all the family, we are sorry for your loss. The entire crew here at Newport send you all our deepest condolences.

Bob, thank you for your remarkable and dedicated service to Newport Fire Station, you will never be forgotten.

This morning, we responded to a domestic garage-annexe fire in Henham.

Crews worked to extinguish the fire and protect further or neighbouring property from becoming involved.

We were joined by crews from Dunmow and Saffron Walden.

Our crew are always training in order to keep our skills as competent as possible, incase you ever need us.

The crew at Newport have a unique and specialist capability for Heavy Rescue, which is a crucial asset to the entire county.

Tonight, we simulated rescue from entrapment from a Large Vehicle or HGV.

Tonight we had the pleasure of hosting 1st Thaxted Carver's Beavers at Newport Fire Station.

They learned all about fire safety, smoke alarms, and most importantly a tour around our super cool fire engine as well as a high majority vote for some water spraying.
