Thursday 11th June & Saturday 13th June

In a slight change to our advertised schedule.
Thursday the 11th of June at 5pm: we are now having a fence making demonstration / workshop, by the Maurice who did the recent stool and spatula making event. This event does not need booking and will run from about 5pm to about 7:30pm. For this event meet at the entrance to the site by the school and I will take you to the location in the woodland.
Then
Saturday 13th June
We have a nationally renowned insect specialist Richard Dawson coming to the site, where we will be running an Insect Safari Day across 2 sessions on the day. These are aimed at all ages and no booking is required, and people can come to either or both sessions. Each session will last about 1 ¾ hours.
10am. Pollinator Safari
1pm… Invertebrate Safari
Please come along to the events and bring your friends and family as we can show off the splendid work that has been taking place at the common.

A date for the diary!!!

Sunday 28th June sees the return of Fun in the Field at St Brides. This year it is tied in with the Pew and Clues event (more details to follow)- with Fun in the Field being the culmination of the weekend and the winners announced. We will also be holding a joint MA service that afternoon.

To enable the event to happen we need some volunteers to assist in various roles – everything from carparking and craft to catering and putting up gazebos. The event will run from 2pm to around 5pm but help is needed before, during, and after!

SECTION 14 - ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

MONMOUTHSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(MANOR CHASE, UNDY, MONMOUTHSHIRE)
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION NOTICE 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that MONMOUTHSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL of County Hall, The Rhadyr, Usk, NP15 1GA (“the Council”) Intends to make an order pursuant to the powers conferred by Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

1. The Order shall come into operation on the 11th June 2026 and will continue to be in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that the works will be completed between 11th June 2026 and 17th June 2026, operating between 09:30 – 16:00.

2. The order is necessary for road resurfacing works to take place in a safe manner at the location. Reasonable access will be maintained for properties fronting the affected lengths of road during the period of the closure.

3. The effect of the order will be to temporarily close a section of Manor Chase, Undy, Monmouthshire, from its junction with B4245 to its junction with St Mellons Close, approx closure distance ~195m in a northernly direction.

4. A signed diversionary route will be in place as follows:- B4245, Rockfield Grove and vice versa.

5. This order may be cited as the Manor Chase, Undy, Monmouthshire Temporary Traffic Regulation Order 2026

6. By virtue of Section 16(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 a person who contravenes a restriction or prohibition imposed under Section 14 of the Act shall be guilty of an offence.
