I love where I live ❤️

One of my favourite things to do is take the kids kayaking at the beach in Newhaven, but with all the sewage dumping that’s been allowed to happen, I’ve not been so keen to do of late.

Last year we had family come down and we were swimming in the sea and we all got sick off the back of it which I can only assume is due to sewage dumping.

It’s a disgrace that the water companies have been allowed to get away with it and it’s something that I as a local councillor (if elected) and the Lib Dem’s nationally will campaign to stop.

Great news for people that use the Seaford to Brighton line. Well done James for campaigning for this. 👏🏻

Fantastic news on my campaign for newer trains on the Seaford-Brighton line: Southern Rail tell me that they are planning to entirely retire the Class 313 trains with the introduction of the Summer 2023 timetable from Sunday 21 May. They’ll replace them with Electrostar trains, still with a second member of staff on board.

“With the addition of air-conditioning, accessible toilets, and a £55m upgrade currently underway, these trains will be much more comfortable,” they tell me.

“We are also reconfiguring the timetable … to create new connections at stations such as Lewes and Eastbourne. Brighton to Eastbourne will increase throughout the week from two journey options per hour to four, at a much more even spacing – which should be transformative for the route.”
