It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of one of our regular, young volunteers.
Tyler “Lloyd” Parkinson was a cherished member of our ‘Falconry Family’, who originally came to us as a student on a program from a local college. He had a difficult time in education before he came to us, but his enthusiasm and love for the birds brought new meaning to his life and led to new friendships and experiences.
After spending time here for his college course, Tyler quickly moved into regular volunteering, spending several days a week with us. He quickly took to flying falcons, which is a difficult skill to learn, and was often the centre of fun and laughter amongst his colleagues and friends here.
Tyler became an integral part of our close-knit team, and will be sorely missed by us all for his love of the birds, his ‘banter’ and his silly laugh that brightened our days.
Tyler had plans to continue his education in animal care at Kirkley Hall College later this year, but sadly, was taken from his family and friends far too soon, at only 21 years old, passing in his sleep.
We send our heartfelt condolences to his family and all who knew him.
Fly high big lad!
Tyler Parkinson
