One of our greatest achievements. He bought the tickets, in some form of arrangement with our daughter, & we were apart for one whole night.

Not to be underestimated the emancipation from both the side of the carer & the careree! A lot of planning went into this.

Did I worry being nearly 300 miles away? You bet I did...but the feeling of normality was unreal! ❤️

How lucky are we to live so close to Hadrian's Wall? The perimeter of the site is accessible for a wheelchair but with a strong/fit carer. I admit I am neither..so sometimes I just do these jaunts on my own & report back with tales & photos. And in this instance a guided tour! ❤️

Champagne afternoon tea. If the photos look familiar you would not be wrong. The fixtures are from the RMS Olympic sister ship of the RMS Titanic.

The White Swan Alnwick - Grade II listed building so access is a bit challenging which includes a revolving door as the entrance to the hotel.

We managed & had a fabulous experience, taking a doggie bag home. Highly recommended

We get around in our Mazda Bongo Campervan. Hugely lucky we have the services of the Bongo Barn for all things Bongo.......

Just because there are challenges doesn't mean you can't achieve. Without our Bongo, which is such a silly name, we would not travel as far!

A couple of random castles. 1st one had a lovely small farm shop, which unfortunately was closed when we visited but really accessible outside seating.

The 2nd Castle was unsurprisingly closed so had to lean over the padlocked gate to get a photo. The grounds did look reasonable for a wheelchair if you could manage somehow to ascend several steps. Couldn't get close enough to see what Plan B would be.
