This is a hard post to write. Becoming a celebrant felt like the beginning of something deeply meaningful — a way to honour love, loss and life through ceremony and story. But due to my health, I’ve had to make the heartbreaking decision to step away, just as I was finding my feet.

This work lit something up in me, and I still feel so connected to its purpose. I haven’t closed the door completely — I hope, when life allows, to return to it with even more depth and compassion.

Thank you to everyone who believed in me. For now, I’m honouring a different kind of season — one of rest, healing, and new kind of beginning 🎨

✨Celebrating Symbolic Wedding Elements✨

Capturing the magic of your wedding day goes beyond the "I do's." Incorporating symbolic elements into your ceremony can add profound meaning and create unforgettable memories.

Here are some beautiful rituals to consider:

🕯️Unity Candle: Light a single candle from two individual ones, symbolising the joining of your lives into one.

⏳Sand Ceremony: Pour different coloured sands into a single container, blending your lives and stories forever.

🎗️Handfasting: Tie your hands together with a ribbon, an ancient Celtic tradition symbolising the binding of your hearts.

🌳Tree Planting: Plant a tree together to represent growth and the roots you’re putting down as a couple.

🧹Jumping the Broom: Sweep away the old and leap into your new life together, a beautiful African American tradition.

🍷Wine Ceremony (my fave): Share a cup of wine, mixing two wines into one, representing the blending of your lives with all its sweetness and bitterness.

🌹Rose Ceremony (another favourite of mine): Your first gift to each other and a timeless way to express your love and commitment. A rose can also be given by each guest creating a beautiful bouquet centre piece, or to place on the chair of a loved one who is dearly missed.

🫖 Breaking of the Glass: A Jewish tradition that signifies the fragility of relationships and the commitment to cherish and protect your marriage. These rituals bring depth and a personal touch to your wedding, reflecting your unique love story and the journey you're about to embark on together.

…and many, many more.

Which one resonates with you? You can incorporate one, two, even three rituals into your ceremony. This is your day and your celebration, so anything goes. Why not make your own up.
