Heaton & Armstrong Parks Heaton and Armstrong Parks are located north east of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne. This page has been set up by the Friends of Heaton and Armstrong Parks.

Heaton Park was formed after Newcastle City Council purchased part of Heaton Hall estate in 1879. The same year Sir W.G Armstrong donated a large area of adjacent land which became Armstrong Park.

65 national greenspace, planning, health and equality organisations have launched a campaign for . They are calling on the Government to endorse a legal right of local access to quality greenspace, backed by a £5.5 billion commitment in its Levelling Up fund over the next 3 years. Note: a recent poll found that 80% of the public backed a legal right to local nature.
