Relax with fellow music lovers at the Heron Music Café!

Running every other Friday throughout the summer, these FREE, friendly music mornings at the Lifespring Church and Centre are dementia and disability friendly.

🎤 Sing and dance along to live performances by professional musicians
🫖 Enjoy complimentary tea, coffee, and biscuits upon arrival
🙂 Make new friends in a warm, welcoming setting

Whether you’re getting the train or taking a stroll through town, don’t miss Convergences, on display at Newark Castle Station 🚂

This one-of-a-kind exhibition shows local landmarks as you’ve never seen them before 📸

All images were photographed by local people living with sight loss and abstracted by artist Daniel Rapley, mirroring the optical effects of macular degeneration.

Convergences is a collaboration with My Sight Newark.

Our Artist in Residence Leanne Moden - Poet has two creative activities ready for visitors ✏️ 🖌️

Scribble Session:
Head over to the artist’s studio, found on the top floor of the museum, where Leanne has covered our table in paper and needs you to doodle all over it! Write a story, draw a design, create a comic—the choice is yours.

Personalised Poetry:
Whether you need a ditty for your mum or a rhyme for your rabbit, Leanne has got you covered! She will be writing free personalised poems all day in the foyer, with slots available on a first-come, first-served basis.

🕰️ Stop by between 10am and 4pm to join the fun!

There are so many wonderful objects in the museum, it makes it hard to choose. Help her out by leaving a suggestion—there’s a special box in the studio, ready and waiting!

📍 The artist’s studio is located on the top floor of the National Civil War Centre - Newark Museum.
