❗Winthorpe with Langford Neighbourhood Plan Referendum – Have Your Say❗

Residents of Winthorpe with Langford are being invited to vote in a local referendum on Thursday 12 February 2026.

The referendum asks whether the Winthorpe with Langford Neighbourhood Plan should be used by Newark and Sherwood District Council when deciding planning applications in the parish.

WHAT IS THE QUESTION? “Do you want Newark and Sherwood District Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Winthorpe with Langford to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?”

If more than half of those voting answer “Yes”, the Neighbourhood Plan will become part of the statutory planning framework used for planning decisions in Winthorpe with Langford.

🗓️WHEN AND WHERE CAN I VOTE?🗓️
Date: Thursday 12 February 2026
Time: 7.00am – 10.00pm
Polling station: Winthorpe Village Hall, Gainsborough Road, Winthorpe, NG24 2NN

Anyone who is registered to vote in local elections and lives in Winthorpe or Langford is entitled to vote in this referendum.

VOTING BY POST OR PROXY: If you have already applied to vote by post or by proxy, those arrangements will apply to this referendum.

VOTER ID: Voters are required to show photo ID at the polling station.

VIEWING THE NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN: The Neighbourhood Plan and all supporting documents, including the independent examiner’s report, are available to view online via Newark and Sherwood District Council’s website. Paper copies can also be viewed at Castle House, Newark, during normal office hours.

Winthorpe with Langford Parish Council encourages residents to take part and make their voice heard.
