A massive congratulations to Rose, who correctly guessed our little hedgehog friend’s name and has won the hedgehog clock! 🎉

We’d also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who entered the competition and supported our fundraiser. The response has been amazing, and we’re so grateful for every contribution.

Thanks to your generosity, we’ve been able to raise valuable funds while helping spread awareness of an important cause. It’s been wonderful to see so many people getting involved and supporting our little visitor!

♦️🚌 New Mills Bus Station 🚌♦️

It's been a bit of a journey tracking down who needs to grant permission to undertake much needed improvements at New Mills Bus Station - so I was very pleased to have been told, that work could now start before the end of the year.

After speaking to Derbyshire County Council and then East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) who is now responsible for bus related enquiries, I was told that the Bus Station is on Network Rail land and neither EMCCA nor DCC before them, had been able to gain the permission required to undertake work.

Having been lucky enough to make several Network Rail contacts recently, I was able to intervene and after an investigation by those extremely helpful Network Rail staff, EMCCA officers are now in touch with the correct people in the Network Rail Assets Team and the required permissions and paperwork are being sorted out.

The Bus Station improvements will include a complete road resurfacing and, all being well, it is hoped that the work could start as early as this autumn. 🤞

Sound on! 🥳 After a very long silence… the clock is finally bonging again! 🎉🕰️

Following plenty of investigation, repairs, and some much-needed new parts, our faithful clock is back doing what it does best. We know many of you missed hearing it, and we’re delighted to have it ticking and chiming once more.
