From today, 1st June, we’re writing to all tenants to tell you about updates to your occupation contract.
This is called a ‘notice of variation’.
This is a legal requirement across Wales, so everyone living in rented accommodation will receive information in the coming weeks.
• You don’t need to take any action
• You don’t need to reply
• You don’t need to contact us
The notice includes new rights and protections within your contract, including:
• You cannot be treated unfairly because you have children
• You cannot be treated unfairly because you claim benefits
These protections already exist but the update means they are now clearly written into your contract.
