Pavement parking is something we see
In smaller, older towns quite a lot - here’s a different perspective on what effect it can have on those with visual impairment and blindness. A campaign has been established to raise awareness of the effects of parking on pavements and footpaths, or near entrances and approaches.

For people with sight loss, obstacles such as pavement parking and the unsafe use of e-bikes and e-scooters can make everyday journeys difficult, stressful, and dangerous.

To tackle these issues, we need your help. Using our readymade email template, you can send your MP a message in just a few minutes.

[Visual description: A guide dog owner with his guide dog, is shown walking in the road around a white car that is parked on the pavement, blocking it. On the pavement, in front of the parked car, there is a large yellow poster lying flat that reads "Guide dogs need space, not blocked pavements."]

🏴 Croeso i Eisteddfod Genedlaethol y Garreg Las!

Wrth i Eisteddfod Genedlaethol y Garreg Las gael ei chynnal yn Llantwd yr wythnos hon, mae Cyngor Tref Arberth yn anfon ei ddymuniadau gorau at y trefnwyr, y gwirfoddolwyr, y cystadleuwyr a’r holl ymwelwyr.

Roedd yn fraint i Arberth gynnal Gorymdaith a Seremoni’r Cyhoeddi ym mis Mai 2025, pan ddaeth dros fil o bobl ynghyd ar strydoedd y dref i groesawu’r Eisteddfod i’r ardal.

Mae’n hyfryd gweld y dathliad mawr hwn o’r Gymraeg, diwylliant, cerddoriaeth a chelfyddydau Cymru bellach ar waith yma yn Sir Benfro.

Pob hwyl i bawb — mwynhewch y Steddfod!

🏴 A warm welcome to Eisteddfod Genedlaethol y Garreg Las!

As the National Eisteddfod takes place at Llantwd this week, Narberth Town Council sends Genedlaethol y Gar its very best wishes to the organisers, volunteers, competitors and everyone visiting the festival.

Narberth was proud to host the Proclamation procession and ceremony in May 2025, when more than a thousand people gathered in the town’s streets to welcome the Eisteddfod to our area.

It is wonderful to see this great celebration of the Welsh language, culture, music and arts now taking place here in Pembrokeshire.

Pob hwyl — we hope everyone has a wonderful Eisteddfod!

The Mayor, Councillors and Clerk of Narberth Town Council were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Mrs Doris Feetham.

Doris was a much-loved and familiar figure in Narberth and, alongside her late husband, Eric Feetham MBE, devoted many years to the civic life of our town. As Eric served the people of Narberth for almost half a century as a Town Councillor, and on six occasions as Mayor, Doris proudly served as Mayoress, offering steadfast support throughout his remarkable years of public service.

Reflecting on Doris' passing, the Mayor of Narberth, Cllr Elizabeth Rogers, said:

"People often used to say, with a smile, that behind every great man was an even greater woman. Looking back on Eric and Doris' years of service to Narberth, I think those words could not be more fitting. Doris was a wonderful lady who quietly supported Eric throughout his remarkable contribution to our town, while making her own lasting contribution to Narberth's civic life. She will be greatly missed, and our thoughts are with her family and all who knew and loved her."

On behalf of the people of Narberth, the Town Council extends its heartfelt condolences to Doris' family, friends and all who are mourning her loss.

The Mayor's full Statement of Condolence is available on the Council's website (https://narberthtowncouncil.gov.wales/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/NTC-STAT-20260727-%E2%80%93-Statement-of-Condolence-%E2%80%93-Mrs-Doris-Feetham.pdf) and is attached below.

We know many residents will have fond memories of Doris and Eric. If you would like to share a memory or pay your respects, please feel welcome to do so in the comments below.
