Unite ● Protect ● Enhance
WCAP was formed on 21st June at a meeting organised by the Parish Council with residents. It has been formed as a direct result of concern over potential development threats to The Royal Oak pub and the adjoining land. Its’ purpose is to:
• Unite the community with a consensus view on what is important to the village
• Protect assets that make the village valuable to the
community
• Enhance the village by seeking ways to develop the assets either directly or by influencing other parties
Local communities across the country are being encouraged to take an active role in determining how they wish their community to develop and be maintained and we shall work with the Parish Council and Cheshire East along with other advisory and regulatory bodies. As a first step we are starting to publicise the formation of WCAP and seeking people to register as members of this community group. The larger the group the more that we can claim to represent the views of the wider community when working with government and private bodies.
