REMINDER EVENT ON 9 SEPTEMBER 19.30 TO 21.00 NAILSEA JOINT CADET CENTRE

NAILSEA AIR CADETS ARE RETURNING – THEY NEED YOU!
A recruitment evening is being held to reinstate the squadron back to Nailsea.

They are 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗱𝘂𝗹𝘁 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻… 𝗮𝗻𝗱, 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲, 𝗖𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗮 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗻.

🎬 The People’s Emergency Briefing – A Great Response

Thank you to everyone who came along to the screening of The People’s Emergency Briefing at Nailsea Tithe Barn on the 1 September 2026.

The hall was full, and the screening was followed by some really interesting discussion and debate. The level of interest was so strong that we’re now looking at arranging a second screening soon.

If you missed it, don’t worry – there will be another opportunity to watch it on the 29 September. The film is around 50 minutes long and is designed to encourage discussion about some of the major challenges facing the UK, including the natural world, climate, the economy and food security.

The briefing brings together information from scientists and experts in their fields and follows the National Emergency Briefing presented to around 1,200 MPs at Westminster.

🍂 Nailsea Community Clean-Up – Saturday 3 October 🍂

Let’s come together and give Nailsea a freshen-up this autumn! 🧤🍃

Nailsea Town Council is inviting residents of all ages to join our Community Clean-Up and help keep our parks and public spaces clean, welcoming and looking their best.

📅 Saturday 3 October 2026
⏰ 1:00pm start – please arrive by 12:45pm
📍 Meet at Millennium Park, near the Skate Park
🧤 Litter-picking equipment will be provided. If you have your own gloves or litter-picking tools, please bring them along.

It’s a great chance to get outdoors, meet other local residents and make a real difference to our town. 💚

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Everyone is welcome! Bring your family, friends and neighbours and help us give Nailsea an autumn clean.

🚧 ROAD CLOSURE – POUND LANE, NAILSEA

Please be aware that Pound Lane, Nailsea will be temporarily closed to vehicles and cyclists to allow carriageway patching works to take place.

📅 Date: From Thursday 3 September 2026
⏰ Expected hours: 9am–3pm
⏱️ Expected duration: 1 working day

📍 Closure: Pound Lane, from the junction with Clevedon Road to the junction with Silver Street.

➡️ Diversion: Clevedon Road → Stock Way North → Silver Street, and vice versa.

The closure may not be required for the full period and will only be in place while the works are taking place.

Please allow extra time for your journey and use an alternative route where possible.

🚧 Temporary Road Closure – Meadway Avenue, Nailsea 🚧

North Somerset Council has announced that Meadway Avenue (between houses 16–20) will be closed to vehicles from 28 September 2026.

This is to allow National Grid to carry out essential work for a new power supply.

🔹 The closure is expected to last around 5 days
🔹 Access will still be allowed for emergency services, works vehicles, and residents who can only reach their homes via the closed section
🔹 Signs and diversions will be in place
