Much Wenlocks crew have just returned from the tanker fire in Newdale Telford which you may have seen via social media.

Due to the nature of the incident foam was in use to bring the fire under control.

As you can see we saw a lot of smoke issuing from the incident on route, so local residents were advised to keep all windows closed.

The fire is now out but people are advised to avoid the area.

Many thanks to all crews involved, also Police, Ambulance and Staffordshire Fire service for their assistance.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Malcolm Davies, a much-valued former member of Much Wenlock Fire Station.

Malcolm served as a firefighter in Much Wenlock from 1973 to 1995, dedicating over two decades to protecting his community with courage and commitment. During his service he was awarded a commendation for his acts of bravery, which speaks volumes for the kind of man Malcolm was.

Our thoughts are with Malcolm's family, friends, and all who had the privilege of serving alongside him.

Malcolm's funeral will take place on Monday 20th April at Shrewsbury Crematorium at 13:15.

Rest easy, Malcolm. Thank you for your service.

On this day, we pause in silence for the brave men and women who ran toward danger when the world stood still.
They did not waver, even as the unthinkable unfolded.

Your courage lit the darkest of days.
Your sacrifice stands as a beacon of honor, etched forever in the heart of a nation.

Today, we honor their memory.
We keep their stories alive.
In the flicker of a candle, the wail of a siren, and in the silence of reflection,
We vow to never forget them.

We want to send a big thank you to Nisa Local & Shell Petrol Much Wenlock for letting us use their underfloor crawlspace for our training this evening.
As part of our routine training each week, having to navigate in dark confined spaces is one of the many aspects we cover. Tonight the crew were tasked with locating multiple casualties underneath the floor space, and have to respond to one of their own crew mates in need of help.

You may have heard a lot of sirens this morning. Our crew was alerted to a building fire near Station road. On arrival we found a fire had started on the top floor of a 3 storey building. Fortunately we were able to work quickly to contain the fire to prevent further damage to the building, and everyone was accounted for.
Crews have carried out a reinspection and believe there is no further threat.

Thanks to assisting crews from Telford, Wellington and Shrewsbury.

Remember to regularly check your fire alarms. Once a week ideally.
