Wallington is home to a wide variety of wildlife including a number of native species including red squirrels, otters and white-clawed crayfish. The Trevelyans loved being outdoors and close to nature and the House is surrounded by an informal landscape of lawns, lakes, woodland, parkland and farmland, just waiting to be explored. A beautiful walled garden can be found hidden in the east woods, wi

th a stunning Edwardian conservatory. Don't miss:

* Relax, picnic or play in the grassy courtyard
* Look out for woodpeckers and red squirrels at the wildlife hide
* Stretch your legs with a walk along the river or through the countryside
* Let off steam in the adventure playground
* Treat yourself to a spot of lunch or browse the extensive range of gifts in the gift shop

Calling all chocolate lovers โ€“ Septemberโ€™s scone of the month might be right up your street...

This month weโ€™re bringing back the ever popular chocolate and cherry scone. For that extra โ€˜cherry on topโ€™ you could even pair it with cream and jam.

We've dutifully sampled one (one of the perks of being in the marketing team!) and it comes highly recommended. If this doesnโ€™t take your fancy, donโ€™t worry, thereโ€™s a range of other cakes and sweet treats too.

Wallingtonโ€™s rangers and Butterfly Conservation have made an incredible discovery...

During a monitoring survey at one of the estateโ€™s tenant farms, the team discovered only the second known population of the dark bordered beauty moth in England!

Farmer, Fiona Goodfellowโ€™s nature friendly farming practices, such as changes to how her livestock is grazed and restoring peatlands, has created the right conditions for this rare moth (and other species) to thrive here. The moth was last recorded in Wallingtonโ€™s estate over 70 years ago.
