Moretonhampstead Swimming Pool Moretonhampstead Community Swimming Pool is a 25m outdoor pool heated by renewable energy on Dartmoor, Devon. The 2024 season starts on 25th May.

Full timetable on our website. Moretonhampstead Swimming Pool, on the edge of Dartmoor, is open from May through to September and is run by volunteers. Our fabulous 25m outdoor pool is heated by air source heat pumps and solar power, so you can swim comfortably even when the sun is hiding behind the clouds. The pool offers a grassed social area, hot and cold refreshments, and a timetable that offe

rs a daily general swim for all, lane swimming, aqua fit sessions, swimming lessons, technique coaching, and water polo. Each season we try to introduce new opportunities for improving fitness and confidence in the water for all ages. The pool is also available for hire.

This season has flown by - must be all the sunshine and blue skies - and we've hit our final week.

Now the school term has started, the first hour of the 2.30 General Swim will be a quiet time at the pool so perfect for young families and adults who prefer a chilled swim. And we're rounding swimmy things off with a Live Music Dimpsy Swim on Saturday and free swims all day on Sunday! Nice...

HOME ED SESSION THIS WEEK

Tuesday 12-2pm - after a summer holiday gap - will be a one off and final Home Ed session for the season. Weather is looking good ie no rain or wind so we look forward to welcoming the home education community for one last swim in the sun (not guaranteed but we're feeling optimistic)

We've now got two bands playing next Saturday at the pool - The Juliettes & DAM. Come along to enjoy the music or come along to enjoy a swim AND the music! Either way a great way for us to round off a long hot summer poolside.

Kicks off at 7pm, goes on to whenever the music stops

Winding down towards the end of the season. Our gazebos have had it. Our Lifeguards & Shopworkers are thinking about packing up for Uni / getting inoculated for their gap year / queuing up for college enrolment / ironing their SDCC sweatshirts but we've got another fortnight of fun to go before we close the doors for the season.

Rainy day Saturday. Do we care? Nah because it’s 27 degrees in the water and our lifeguards are full of happy vibes from Thursday’s carnival. Thank you to organisers and volunteers for an excellent 101st event. We got 3rd prize! Here are our team in all their glory away from the poolside. Back in uniform today for the lane swim 9-10.30am and general swim 2.30-5.30pm

No 7am lane swim on Friday to allow our staff to gather themselves after the night before. They might consider having a beautiful, meditative yoga session on Friday evening at 6pm to restore their inner balance and wellbeing, with a post-yoga swim.

We also recommend it to you. Join Lesley - beginners welcome - for a gentle evening at the pool.
