Thank you to everybody who came down to our charity car wash yesterday we raised £881 for the firefighters charity, the sun was shining and lots of cars were cleaned, a great effort was put in by the crew, with some help from some potential new recruits in a few years time, thank you all again, we couldn’t have done it without your support

Come and see the team down at the station on Sunday 10th of May and have your car washed with proceeds going to the firefighters charity. The charity does amazing work supporting current and past serving firefighters and their families so we want to raise as much money as we can. Last night at around 19:05 a crew from the station were mobilised to reports of a fire on the moor at the location of previous swaling, on arrival they were met with a fire front of approximately 150 metres, crews worked hard using beaters and scotty packs alongside colleagues from Bovey Tracey Fire Station Chagford Fire Station Princetown Fire Station to bring the incident to a close.

Last night at around 21:30 one crew from the station were mobilised to reports of a fire within a property in the centre of town, due to the quick response any escalation was brought under control quickly, they worked alongside colleagues from Chagford Fire Station and Bovey Tracey Fire Station to fully extinguish the fire which was fortunately contained to one room.

On Sunday a crew from station 27 were mobilised to to reports of a fire at a school in okehampton, they worked with colleagues from across the service to help extinguish the flames, another crew was sent again on Monday morning as part of the relief strategy to monitor and damp down hot spots and make up equipment that had been used through the night.

Tonight we hosted a 4 pump BA exercise, we utilised the local cottage hospital which is currently unused, we used synthetic smoke to simulate heavy smoke logging from a kitchen fire, information gathered by the incident commander revealed that there were 12 people unaccounted for, the crew worked alongside colleagues from Chagford Fire Station Bovey Tracey Fire Station and Newton Abbot Fire Station to rescue the casualties and put the fire out, this was a valuable training exercise for newly qualified incident commander Harry, and Ben with his recent BA qualification. Special thanks to the organisers and the member of our community who volunteered to be the responsible person for the hospital.

Huge congratulations to FF Hampton on successfully passing his ICS course 👏
A great achievement that now allows him to take charge of an incident—a big milestone and a real credit to his hard work and commitment.
And well done to FF Cudmore on passing his BA course 🎉
Earning the right to wear breathing apparatus is no small feat and shows real dedication and professionalism.
