The production company behind the BBC's 'Secret Garden' is looking for special gardens and the people who love them for a new wildlife series - and they’re keen to hear from people across our local community.

It doesn’t have to be huge or perfectly manicured. They’re looking for gardens with character, a story or something fascinating going on when it comes to wildlife. 🐦🦔🦋

Maybe you have unusual visitors, wildlife you’ve come to know, a particularly special garden setting or simply a garden that means a lot to you.

You don’t need to be a gardening or wildlife expert - just curious about the wild world on your doorstep.

❓Did you know that Morecambe Town Hall and Morecambe Town Council are two different things?

It’s an easy mix-up – particularly as the Town Council does have a small office at Morecambe Town Hall.

But Morecambe Town Hall is owned and operated by Lancaster City Council, which has been responsible for the building since the last local government reorganisation in 1974.

So, if you’re asked to contact or visit “Morecambe Town Hall” about a council service, 9 times out of 10 the organisation you’re looking for is Lancaster City Council.

We hope this helps point you in the right direction and saves you from being passed from one place to another!

Eric On The Bay! ☀️🌊🕺📸

On 14 July, more than 100 people recreated Morecambe and Wise’s iconic skipping pose on South Beach as part of ‘Eric On The Bay’, a unique performance art and photography installation celebrating Eric Morecambe’s 100th anniversary.

Captured from directly overhead in the low evening sunshine, this spectacular aerial image turns their shadows into a whole new cast of shadow Erics.

🌼 Alleyway transformation 🌼

Earlier this year, we transformed an unadopted and unloved alleyway between Woodhill Lane and Hutton Crescent into a wildflower walk – and it's now teeming with wildlife.

During one short visit late last month, we spotted multiple species of butterfly and caterpillar, honeybees, bumblebees, solitary bees, hoverflies and a parasitic wasp! 🐝🦋
