🚫Road Closure🚫
Monmouth Town Council have been informed about an order to temporarily close a section of Kymin Road, The Kymin, Monmouthshire, ~0.50km from its junction with Staunton Road for ~75m.

The order is necessary for Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water works to take place in a safe manner at the location. Reasonable access will be maintained for properties fronting the affected lengths of road during the period of the closure. It is anticipated that the works will be completed on the 22nd June 2026, operating between 08:00 – 16:00.

There will be no signed diversion route in place due to the road being a no-through route, access/egress will be maintained but residents should expect short delays.

On Thursday 28 May 2026 Members of the Monmouth Litter Group welcomed the flotilla of Wyedean Canoeists and helped them disembark and offload waste material they had collected on their annual river cleanup.

Starting at Symonds Yat, the canoeists arrived at Monmouth Rowing Club with discarded items and sacks full of rubbish to be disposed of properly before it could cause further damage to wildlife or discharge into the sea.

It was reported that there was less waste compared to previous years, which is good news and there was a welcome sighting of cygnets as well as gooseander and mandarin ducklings.

Monmouth Litter Group will next be meeting at the Skateboard car park, Drybridge Road, at 2pm on Sunday 14 June 2026.

All are welcome with all equipment provided, including little pickers for little hands.
