Do you know where your children have been this week?

We know it has been half term and we've had some fantastic weather but we have had an increase of reports in the Hope area of youths coming from the train station and causing anti-social behaviour. This has included reports of shoplifting, consumption of nitrous oxide, throwing stones and urinating on people's properties. We have increased patrols of the area and are investigating any offences but if you think this could be your child feel free to contact us and we will be happy to speak to them.

North Wales Police Officers attended a property on Saltney Terrace, Saltney Ferry, just after 5pm on Monday 25 May, following concerns being raised about an individual.

A man was arrested and subsequently taken to hospital as a precaution. 36 year old Scott Griffiths of Ewart Street, Saltney Ferry has since been charged with possession of an imitation firearm, making threats with an imitation firearm, harassment, and an offence under the Public Order Act 1986.

A referral has been made to the Independent Office of Police Conduct (IOPC) in relation to this incident.

We would reassure members of the public that incidents of this nature are incredibly rare in North Wales and there is not believed to be any wider threat to the community.

Anybody with information in relation to this incident, contact us via our live webchat online or by calling 101, quoting reference O080600.

🔪 Op Sceptre 🔪

OP Sceptre, the week long national campaign to help tackle knife crime came to an end on Sunday with a focus on conducting test purchases at local retailers.

PCs and PCSOs were assisted by our NWP Cadets who carried out a number of test purchases in order to ensure customers who are buying age-restricted goods are asked to provide proof of age documentation should they look to be under 25.

⭐ COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT – 23/05/2026 ⭐

☕ 🍰 PCSO Charlotte and PCSO Dan attended the community coffee morning, cake and craft sale alongside the Community Council drop-in session hosted by the Penyffordd Council Ward at the Royal British Legion in Penyffordd.

It was lovely to see such a large turnout, with so many members of the community coming together for a chat and supporting local events. 👏🏻

During the morning, residents spoke with us about a few local concerns, namely fly tipping and the use of e-scooters in the area. Thank you to everyone who took the time to speak with us and share their views.
Community engagement events like this are a great way for us to work together and offer support to residents.
Thank you to the organisers and everyone who attended – we look forward to attending future events. 😊

☀️ ⚠️ WEATHER ADVICE⚠️ ☀️

☀️ As the weather gets warmer this is when we start to get an increase of reports of dogs being left in hot cars. 🐶

On a mild 20°C day, in just 10 minutes the interior of the car can heat up by over 10°C and within an hour can increase to nearly 48°C. We are massive dog lovers here in Flintshire South so if we cannot get hold of you to return to your car immediately there is a good chance we will need to smash your car window to release the dog. Please don't let your dog suffer in the car, leave them at home, they would much rather be at home than sat in a car waiting for you to go shopping.

☀️ This also includes walking dogs as the temperature increases. Make sure to walk your dogs early in the morning and late in the evening when it is cooler or just miss the walk that day. A dog won't die from missing a walk but they can die from heatstroke.🐶

🔪 Op Sceptre 🔪

On Wednesday, PC Troy conducted 'knife sweeps' in the Wrexham area with learners from MPCT Wales arranged as part of Op Sceptre, the week long national campaign to tackle knife crime 🔪

Following an input around knife crime, the learners completed a full 'sweep' of the area searching for discarded blades, and any items that could be used as a weapon or to cause harm.

🔪 🔪 OP Sceptre Update 🔪 🔪

Officers were out supporting Op Sceptre yesterday, did you see them?

PCSO Lona and PC Jim visited several retailers in Mold distributing posters and offering advice about knife sale legislation to retail staff.

Our 'engagement' van and amnesty bin was busy in and throughout the day, with lots of people stopping for a chat with officers.

We have already had several bladed items deposited into the bin, which you will now find here at Mold Police Station.

Please pop in and dispose of knives safely to help reduce the risk of them being used to cause harm 🔪
