It was a real privilege and honour to stand as a Welsh Labour candidate for Clwyd in this Senedd election. Campaigning across our communities alongside such a committed and passionate team has been a wonderful experience that I will always be grateful for. I particularly want to thank Hannah Caroline and Carolyn Thomas for their leadership, friendship and dedication over so many years in the Senedd. Both have made a hugely positive impact on Wales and on Clwyd through their service, and it was fantastic to campaign alongside two former Members of the Senedd who care so deeply about our communities.
It was also fantastic to campaign with fellow candidates Crispin Jones, Ellen Jones, Rajeev Metri, Arran Fearn and Cheryl Williams. This campaign brought us all closer together, created real camaraderie, and gave me the opportunity to learn so much from such talented and hardworking people. It has been a truly valuable and rewarding experience.
It was also brilliant to visit so many organisations, businesses and community groups across Clwyd during the campaign, listening to people directly and gaining a deeper understanding of the issues that matter most to our communities and the priorities people want to see addressed.
I would also like to congratulate Rhun ap Iorwerth as Wales’ new First Minister, and I hope all of Clwyd’s Senedd Members continue to work hard to support people and communities across our region. While there is much to be proud of from this campaign, it is also important that we reflect on the results, take stock, and understand what the public are telling us. Listening, learning and rebuilding trust will be essential in the months and years ahead.
I will now continue my work as a councillor in Mold, standing up for local residents and continuing to serve the community to the very best of my ability ✨
Thank you to everyone who supported our campaign, spoke with us on the doorstep, and took part in our democracy ❤️
