Dyke Farm Nature Reserve D**e Farm Nature Reserve is a small nature reserve on the outskirts of Moffat and is run by members of Moffat and District Wildlife Club.

Apologies for no updates for a long time. I lost all the photos of the reserve which practically dried up in the summer but that's certainly not the case now. Our Mallard ducks are coming back now with the wintering Teal as they were gone for two months during the summer as there was no water.

It is National Nest Box Week from Sunday 14th February to the 21st February. At the reserve we could do with replacing a good number of our 100 or so various nest boxes. Is there anyone in the local area that could make a nest box or two for the reserve or do you know anybody that could help? Perhaps during this lockdown period some talented locals have some spare time? We are a small volunteer group and struggling to get all the jobs done. Any help would be much appreciated.

Last Saturday we started planting some of the 420 free trees we received from The Woodland Trust to extend our hedge. Jon Haydon and myself planted 180 Blackthorn, Crab Apple, Dog Rose, Hazel and Rowan. Just 240 to go.
