“The checks for foster carers are thorough for a reason.”

It’s important we understand someone’s background properly to make sure they’re stable, supported, and ready for the realities of fostering. Some past experiences can be triggered by a child’s needs- so the process helps identify this early, in a safe and supportive way.

It’s not about exclusion -it’s about making sure every foster carer is set up to succeed, and every child gets the right home.
