Recently, residents from our Northampton campus participated in a three-day fire safety course, delivered by Northamptonshire Children's Trust. The course gave our young people the opportunity to develop new skills, build their knowledge, and gain hands-on experience in a professional setting.

For one resident, the experience was particularly inspiring and has even sparked an interest in pursuing a career in firefighting.

At YMCA South Midlands, we're committed to creating opportunities that help young people build confidence, explore their potential, and take positive steps towards their future.

Last week, Kick Back Kitchen served up a fresh chow mein packed with flavour, colour, and crunch, and it proved to be a popular choice.

The scheme helps make good food more accessible for all.

Gareth Southgate's documentary, Changing the Game for Young Men, shines a light on challenges many young people are facing today.

At YMCA South Midlands, these are issues we see every day. That's why supporting young people with the right opportunities, trusted relationships, and positive pathways forward has never been more important.

If you're a local business, partner, community leader, or decision-maker, now is the time to invest in young people and their futures.

At our Milton Keynes Campus, our rooftop garden is a space designed with purpose.

Connecting young people with nature supports wellbeing, creates opportunities to learn and contribute, and provides a positive environment to spend time in. During the growing season, it also supplies fresh produce to our HomeGround Café.

We believe the spaces around young people should help them belong, contribute, and thrive.

Swipe through to see our rooftop garden in bloom, and if you'd like to learn more about our South Midlands campuses, visit our website https://www.ymcasouthmidlands.com/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_content=ap_kqsuceg3ax

Great to be at the Milton Keynes Business Expo today, connecting with local businesses and sharing more about the work we do across the South Midlands.

From supported housing and youth work to employability, wellbeing and community programmes, it was a fantastic opportunity to showcase how businesses can help create opportunities for local young people to belong, contribute and thrive.

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand for a chat. We’re excited to continue building partnerships that make a real difference in our communities.

This Volunteers Week, we want to spotlight some of the incredible mentors who give their time, energy, and encouragement to young people across our community.

At YMCA South Midlands, we believe strong communities grow through connection and support. Our Youth and Community team create opportunities for young people to engage in enriching activities, explore new possibilities, and receive guidance, and our mentors play a key role in making that happen.

Behind every mentoring conversation is a story of connection, and this week we're proud to share a few of them.

Meet the mentors helping to make a difference, one conversation at a time, starting with Patricia Mafolo.
