In May’s MK City Council elections, MK will pilot the UK’s first central voting hub - based in Midsummer Place.

This means all of MK's registered voters will be able to vote in the city centre, offering a convenient alternative to their usual polling station. It’s designed to make voting more accessible, particularly for those who may find it difficult to travel to their designated location.

MK is the only area trialling this type of hub as part of a Government pilot. Find out more about the City Council elections👇️ https://www.milton-keynes.gov.uk/your-council-and-elections/elections-and-register-vote/elections-7-may-2026

The Town Council is deeply saddened by the news that Gary Stanley, a security guard at centre:mk, has died following an attack at the shopping centre on Saturday.

Our thoughts are with Gary’s family, friends and colleagues at this incredibly difficult time. A book of condolences is available in the centre:mk guest services lounge for those who would like to share a message.

We know this news will be upsetting and concerning for many residents. Thames Valley Police has confirmed that a suspect is in custody and that there is no known wider threat to the public. The investigation is ongoing.

We encourage anyone with information to contact the police directly.
