🚧Haverigg Railway Bridge 🚧

We would like to provide an update on the proposed works at Haverigg Railway Bridge.

A Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO) relating to these works was recently published. We understand that this caused confusion and would like to clarify that these works are not going ahead at this time.

During the time the TTRO was submitted, further surveys have identified that some existing telecommunications infrastructure needs to be rediverted. This has programme implications whilst BT plan their works to redivert the service.

As a result, works previously expected to begin in mid-June, including any associated road closure, will not be taking place as indicated.

We will continue to review options and will keep residents informed as plans progress. Should works go ahead in future, we will ensure that residents receive clear advance notice, including at least two weeks’ notice of any road closure.

We were pleased to attend the Whicham Parish Council annual meeting this week, where we shared an update on the Millom Town Deal with local residents and parish councillors.

Thank you to Whicham Parish Council for the invitation, and to everyone who came along. It was great to have the opportunity to connect and provide the latest news on our progress.
