The Friends of Acklam Library would like your help to create a Photography Exhibition called 'π—§π—΅π—Άπ˜€ π—Άπ˜€ π—ͺ𝗡𝗲𝗿𝗲 π—ͺ𝗲 π—Ÿπ—Άπ˜ƒπ—²' πŸ“ΈπŸ‘

They need photographs of the local area - scenery, nature, architecture, textures and streetscapes 🌳 If you have a love for photography and would like to take part, please speak to a member of staff at Acklam Community Hub & Library on 01642 817810.

We have digital cameras to use for this project which will run from 7th September to 31st October with the exhibition opening on 17th November.

Little Ducklings is back! πŸ¦†πŸ¦†

From 11th September - sensory play for babies aged 6 months and over and toddlers 🫧 These fun, engaging sessions are carefully designed to support development through hands-on play and discovery, featuring lots of seasonal textures, smells, and even tastes to explore!

Upcoming sessions will be held at:
- Thorntree Community Hub & Library
- Central Library
- North Ormesby Community Hub & Library

πŸ’¬Its back! We are pleased to announce with funding from Sports England & The National Lottery, Free Family Yoga with the amazing Philippa from Kalma Life is returning. Starting on Saturday 12th September 10-10.45am in the Discovery Space at Central Library.

Through playful movement, partner poses and moments of relaxation, the sessions offer families an opportunity to bond, slow down, and care for their wellbeing. Free fruit is on offer at the end of the session for all participants. We cant wait to see you.

Residents across the community can now access free period products in toilets located within all Community Hubs and Libraries, helping to tackle period poverty and ensure everyone can manage their periods with dignity ❀️

Products will be available free of charge in toilet facilities across all our manned venues, ensuring that anyone caught unprepared or facing financial difficulties can access the items they need without stigma.

Community Hubs and Libraries are trusted spaces at the heart of local communities and are often the first point of contact for residents seeking information, advice and support. Making period products available in these locations strengthens their role as welcoming and inclusive environments for everyone.

Special thanks to Tonia Nixon at Tees Community that provided enough products for this venture to launch.
