Make a Difference This
Around 30,000 unpaid carers are supporting loved ones across South Tees and many more of us will take on that role at some point in our lives. Recognise that you or someone else you may know could be a carer, and that support is always available.

This Carers Week (8–14 June 2026), you can show your support by taking the South Tees Carers Pledge. It only takes a few minutes from your time, but it can help build understanding, raise awareness and create more carer friendly communities.
👉 Take the pledge: wecareyoucare.info/campaigns/south-tees-carers-pledge-2026

🧡 Carers Week 2026: Real Stories from Our Community 🧡
Pat cares for his wife and has spoken openly about the challenges of caring, the importance of finding support and why carers need to be recognised and included.

Reflecting on his own experience, Pat says:
"It would have been easy to disregard my own needs over those of my loved ones, but in reality, I know from experience that I can only provide the support my family needs if I'm getting the support that I need also."

💙 This , we're encouraging unpaid carers across South Tees to have their say on the new All-Age Carers Strategy.

Do you help look after a family member, partner, friend or neighbour who couldn't manage without your support? If so, you may be an unpaid carer.

A new South Tees Carers Strategy is being developed to help ensure unpaid carers can access the support they need. The proposed priorities include:
✔️ Better information and advice
✔️ Support for health and wellbeing
✔️ Help with money, employment and education
✔️ More opportunities for breaks and respite

Your feedback will help shape future support for unpaid carers across South Tees, so now is the perfect opportunity to share your experiences and views.
