Today is International Day of Charity - a chance to celebrate the charities, volunteers and communities working every day to make the world a fairer, healthier and more sustainable place. 💚
From tackling poverty and protecting our planet to supporting people through difficult times, charities make a real difference - often starting right on our doorstep.
In 2024, charities in England and Wales spent £100 billion delivering societal impact, with 90% of that spending benefiting communities here in the UK.
We see that impact every day - through affordable warmth support, community growing, sustainable living, food projects, active travel and so much more.
Because positive change doesn't happen alone. It happens when people care, get involved and take action together.
