How did the ‘warhorse’, first encountered in Britain at the battle of Hastings, evolve? A talk by the author of a groundbreaking study (featured on the BBC’s ‘Digging for Britain’) looks at what the archaeology of horses shows us about the development of the armoured mounted knight in the Middle Ages.

Wiltshire Libraries welcomed 6050 children to the , enjoying the rhythm of this summer.

If your child is aged 4-11 and has signed up online, don't forget they can also pop into their local library to register and collect free stickers and rewards as they complete their reading journey.

⏰ There's still time! The Challenge runs until this Saturday 5 September, so children can continue collecting their stickers and earn their final rewards, including certificate and medal. If you think you may not be able to visit before then, please speak to your local library team. For details of your local Wiltshire Library, visit https://orlo.uk/9elko
