🌈 This Pride Month, we are celebrating the invaluable contribution LGBTQ+ foster carers make across Foster for East Midlands Councils while encouraging more people to consider whether fostering could be right for them.

There is no such thing as a “typical” foster carer – what matters is the ability to offer care, stability and support. Fostering is about helping children feel understood, valued and able to be themselves.

Come and meet our fostering recruitment team at these upcoming Pride events and find out more about making a difference through fostering:

📍 Chesterfield Pride, Saturday 13 June, 1pm–5pm
Stand Road Park, Chesterfield, S41 7JB (Entry fees apply)

📍 Pride in the Peaks, Saturday 27 June, 12pm–5pm
Hall Leys Park, Matlock, DE4 3SX

📍 Notts Pride, Saturday 25 July, 12pm–4pm

🎉 What a busy and inspiring Foster Care Fortnight 2026! 🎉

Over the past few weeks, we’ve enjoyed a fantastic programme of activities, events and celebrations across the East Midlands. From foster carer gatherings and family fun days to information events and community activities, it’s been wonderful to come together, share experiences and celebrate fostering.

A huge thank you to all our foster carers who joined us throughout the fortnight. Your support, dedication and commitment to local children and young people are at the heart of everything we do, and it was great to have the opportunity to recognise and celebrate the difference you make every day.

💙 Thank you for being part of our fostering community.

It takes a community to raise a child and right now, our community is needed more than ever.

Across the East Midlands, local councils are urgently looking for foster carers to help keep children close to:
🏫 Their schools
👫 Their friends
🏡 Their communities

When you foster, you’re not doing it alone.

You become part of a wider community that includes:
🤝 Social workers
👨‍👩‍👧 Other foster carers
💬 Ongoing support and guidance

Together, we can make sure no child feels alone or far from home.

One community. One safe home. One life changed.

Could you be part of it?

Your local authority will support you every step of the way, contact Foster for East Midlands Councils, call 03033 132950 or visit https://fosterforeastmidlands.org.uk/
