Gig in the Park is all set up and ready to go, come down for a FREE afternoon in Whitworth Park!!

We’re still planning to go ahead with Gig in the Park this Sunday and keeping everything crossed that the weather holds out for us.

If anything changes, we’ll announce it here straight away.

A quick reminder of what’s in store: fantastic local bands including 3 Second Fuse, Rivers , Mark Knight, Cassiopeia and The Yeah Ducks will be performing throughout the day.

There will also be linedancing fun to with Peaky Liners - modern Linedancing Club!

You won’t go hungry or thirsty either, with food and drink from:

🥞 Flippin ’eck Pancake Bar

Also the Terrace Cafe is open until 4pm.

Plus, Friends of Matlock Forest will be running 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘 craft activities for all the family, we’ve got 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘 festival face painting, and subsidised bouncy castles to make it an affordable day out for everyone.

𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝘄𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀!

We’ve now replaced the bench on Hallmoor Road at the bottom of Halldale Woods. The old one had reached the end of its life and was well overdue a refresh.

We hope the new bench offers a much nicer spot to pause and catch your breath on the walk up Hallmoor Road 👏

Great news for anyone who uses the Whitworth Park route to Darley Dale Methodist Church, the pathway leading to the cemetery is now finished. No more slipping around or getting caked in mud during the wetter months… a much cleaner, easier walk for everyone!

The next mobile library visit will be in the car park at the Methodist Church in Darley Dale, on Friday 28th August from 1:00pm - 2:50pm.

This will be the first visit from the brand‑new mobile library bus, so it’s a great chance to come along, have a look, and make use of all the services on offer.

Customers can use their library card at any Derbyshire Library, at any mobile library stop, and for online services including free eLending - eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines and eNewspapers - plus reserving books through the online catalogue.
