If you want Derbyshire Dales District Council to know how you feel about the 75 cabins proposed for Farley Moor by Forest Holidays, now is the time to let them know.

District Council will decide on 30th June at 6pm (Derbyshire Dales District Council, Town Hall, Bank Road, Matlock) if the cabins will go ahead.

You can submit your objection (please do so no later than Wednesday 24th June):

Active Dales 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘 walking programme starts on Thursday 11th June at 11.15pm to 12.30pm for 12 weeks in The Whitworth 👇

The session is delivered indoors at The Whitworth where participants will take part in:

- strength and balance exercises,
- walking exercises indoors,
- bench to bench walking in the park (subject to weather conditions)

Come and join us at our new FREE Walk Confident programme starting on the 11th June The Whitworth. The aim of the programme is to help get people moving more and improve their strength and balance when walking. The session will involve both indoor and outdoor walking (weather dependent). Once you have completed 12 weeks you have the opportunity to continue with the Walk Confident walking group for a weekly walk in the park. You can also train as a Walk Buddy and be an advocate for the group. For more information contact [email protected]

A warm welcome to Carol, who was co‑opted onto the Council in April.

She lives in Hackney and brings valuable experience from her time as a Town Councillor previously. She is very active locally - from setting up the Speedwatch on Old Hackney Lane, to chairing the Wirksworth Festival, and contributing to the Friends of Matlock Forest campaigning group.

We’re delighted to have her on board.
