This baby finch was brought in, she was found at the bottom of a large conifer tree, she was cold and unresponsive and in shock, after heat and a try of electrolytes there was a little chirp and movement but still not responding well. The same night her sibling was brought in, frightened and in shock just like the other.
Because they where found under a large conifer I called them Connie and Fern, parents sadly nowhere to be seen and the nest not accessible but they where both very cold and needed care asap.
I put them together and within half an hour they were cuddled up and the first one started asking for food! This was amazing, I fed her a little and left her to settle, the next time I looked the second one was asking for food! From then on feeding little and often they both perked up and started to look happy and content .
Keeping them quiet and feeding every 40 mins, if I had to go anywhere they came with me!
Special care pays off, look at them now, starting to peck off the stick, learning to take from the ground and flying round the room! The colours have come through on the beautiful wings and they are growning nicely.
TLC and a lot of time and patience and we have two happy greedy finches ππΈπ now come the steps to get them ready for soft release, wonβt be yet, maybe a while but the day will come when they can fly free x love Connie and Fern ππΈπ
