Introducing Our New CEO – Rebecca Fellows

We are delighted to share that Rebecca Fellows has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of Solihull Action through Advocacy (SAtA).

Rebecca has been part of the SAtA family for over 10 years and has dedicated her career to supporting people to have their voices heard and their rights respected.

Speaking about her new role, Rebecca said:

"I am honoured to begin a new chapter as CEO of SAtA.

Having been part of SAtA for over ten years, I've seen the difference that advocacy can make in people's lives.

I've learnt that advocacy isn't about being the loudest voice in the room. Advocacy is about listening to the unspoken, true understanding, and helping people find their voice. Advocacy is about being human.

As an autistic woman, advocacy has always felt deeply personal to me. Somewhere over the last decade, SAtA has become more than a place I work. It has become part of who I am.

I'm incredibly proud and grateful to be leading our amazing organisation into its next chapter."

Rebecca's passion, dedication and commitment to the people we support have always been at the heart of everything she does. We are incredibly proud to see her step into this role and lead SAtA into its next chapter.

Please join us in congratulating Rebecca and wishing her every success in her new position!

Here's to the future of advocacy, empowerment and ensuring every voice is heard.

🌿 This week is Mental Health Awareness Week, and this year’s theme is Action.

Because awareness matters but what truly changes lives is what we do next.

At SAtA, we believe everyone deserves to be heard, understood and supported. Every day, our advocates walk alongside people across Solihull helping them speak up, access services, and feel less alone.

That’s our action.

This week, we’re asking: what small action can you take for your mental health or someone else’s?

It could be:
πŸ’¬ Checking in on a neighbour.
πŸ’¬ Asking a friend how they’re really doing.
πŸ’¬ Taking a moment to rest and recharge.
πŸ’¬ Reaching out for support when you need it.

You don’t have to figure it out alone.πŸ’™

🌍 World Health Day 2026 | 7 April

This year’s theme β€œTogether for Health. Stand with Science” is a message we feel deeply at Solihull Action Through Advocacy (SATA).

Because the science is clear: people with learning disabilities, autism, dementia and mental health challenges continue to face real barriers when accessing healthcare. Too often, individuals are misunderstood in appointments, their needs are overlooked and their voices are not fully heard.

At SATA, we see this every day and we are here to change that.

We work alongside our advocacy partners to ensure they:
- Are heard and understood in healthcare settings.
- Understand their rights, choices and options.
- Are actively involved in decisions about their care.
- Feel confident accessing the services they are entitled to.

Our advocates stand beside individuals asking the right questions, speaking up when needed and ensuring people are treated with dignity, respect and equality.

Because health is not just about treatment it’s about being listened to, valued and included.

This World Health Day, we reaffirm our commitment to breaking down barriers and creating a more inclusive healthcare system because health is a human right and every voice matters.
