☀️🌊💦 Paddling Pool Schedule 💦🌊☀️

I’ve noticed lots of people have been asking when the paddling pool will be available to use, so I thought I’d share the usual schedule.

📅 Normal Operating Schedule

🧽🚰Thursday – Pool is cleaned and filled

💦🏊 Friday – Open

💦🏊 Saturday – Open

💦🏊 Sunday – Open

🧽🚰 Monday – Pool is emptied

🌞 During the Summer Holidays 🌞
Council staff will do their very best to clean and refill the pool after it is emptied on Monday so it can stay open throughout the week.

However, this depends on:
👷 Staff availability
☀️ Weather conditions
🚫 Antisocial behaviour
🔨 Vandalism

🤞 The council always try to keep the pool available for as many days as possible.

😎☀️ The paddling pool is a fantastic asset for our community, the jewel in crown in Zetland, and provides a fun, affordable day out for families right here on our doorstep.

🙏 Please help us look after the paddling pool, the new play ground and surrounding area by using the bins provided 🚮, taking litter home if needed ♻️, and respecting the facilities so everyone can enjoy them throughout the summer.

🧴☀️ And don’t forget your sun cream, hats, plenty of water, and to take regular breaks in the shade during this warm weather

💧 Exciting news from Lily Park! 🌳

Earlier this week, I was down at Lily Park meeting with council officers to finalise the location for the new standpipe installation. 📍

The work will be carried out by Northumbrian Water, and everything is now moving in the right direction. 🚰

I’ll share more information about installation dates and the planned works as soon as I receive it. 📅

Having a water supply in the park will be a fantastic addition, helping with the maintenance of the green spaces 🌱, supporting planting projects 🌺, and providing a useful resource for future community activities and events 🎉.

It’s great to see investment and another improvement in Zetland Ward 🏡

Once again a huge thank you to the previous cabinet member Councillor Adam Brook and the current cabinet member Councillor Neil Bendelow South Bank Matters for their support 🙌

💦 Paddling Pool - Play Equipment 🛝

Spoken with officers late yesterday evening.

The play equipment has been installed, the inspection carried out and signed off ✅

The area will be cleaned, the fencing removed and the paddling pool filled ready for use tomorrow (Saturday) if not sooner 💦

A huge thank you to the previous cabinet member Councillor Adam Brook and the current cabinet member Councillor Neil Bendelow South Bank Matters, and not forgetting the officers and neighbourhood team.

We just need the sun to show up ☀️ and the rain to clear 🌦️

Today I the visited paddling pool and have spoken with officers.

Progress continues without any issues to date.

Hopefully, everything will be completed, inspected and signed off by Friday ready for use this weekend 🤞

The paddling pool won’t be in use this weekend while the new play equipment and safety flooring are being installed

The good news 😊
Progress can be seen and it’s starting to take shape, it’s great to see everything coming together.

Hopefully, everything will be completed, inspected and signed off by next Friday

Yesterday morning I attended the Mayoral Investiture ceremony.

Congratulations to Cllr Ceri Cawley - Dormanstown on being appointed Madam Mayor, and Councillor Adam Brook on being appointed Deputy Mayor 👏

Both appointments are very well deserved. They are both incredibly hard-working councillors who care deeply about our communities.

I’m also privileged to call them my friends, so it was a pleasure to stand and say a few words in support of Adam during the ceremony.

They will make an excellent team, and I wish them both a brilliant and successful year ahead.
