Want to work in these incredible places?

We’re looking for someone to fill a new Lead Ranger role in the northern half of the National Trust's Wiltshire Landscape portfolio.

You’ll be caring for internationally important archaeology, species-rich chalk grassland, and habitats containing rare flora and fauna.

More details about the role and who we’re looking for are available via the link below:

The dry spring seems to have helped the butterfly population at Lockeridge Dene.

Recent surveys have found strong numbers of Gatekeepers, Meadow Browns, Small Skippers and Marbled Whites at the site.

Small Elephant Hawk moth caterpillars have also been spotted, which is really exciting news.

We’re hoping to survey the Dene for moths as soon as we can.

Tucked into the edge of the Marlborough Downs, The Coombes is a steep-sided dry valley featuring flower-rich, unimproved chalk grassland.

The stream separates the main valley from a colourful hay meadow, bordered by hedgerows and old willow pollards.

Cley Hill near Warminster offers a rewarding climb through botanically-rich chalk downland, plus extensive views of West Wiltshire and Somerset.

Not a bad spot for a sunset either!

A hare with a few stories to tell, judging by that left ear.

This wonderful image was captured by National Trust volunteer Bob Parker on his way up to Windmill Hill near Avebury.

Did you know brown hares can reach speeds of 45mph when they need to? Incredible.

Welcome to the new Facebook home for the National Trust's Wiltshire Landscape sites.

Across Wiltshire, we care for some incredible countryside locations that are home to rare wildlife, ancient archaeology, and breathtaking views. From rolling chalk grasslands to historic hillforts, there’s so much to discover.

This page is where we’ll share updates on the work we’re doing to protect these special places, highlight seasonal changes, and offer inspiration for your next visit.

You might even uncover a hidden gem you’ve never explored before.

We’d love to hear from you too - whether it’s a favourite walk, a photo you’ve taken, or a memory tied to one of the locations.

So, if you are a fan of Figsbury Ring, or enjoy a peaceful stroll on Pepperbox Hill, send us a message or share your story in the comments.
