Join us this Saturday from 09:00-13:00 for our car wash at Marlborough Fire Station, sponsored by Autoglym

The cost is a £5 minimum donation in aid of The Fire Fighters Charity, payable by cash or card.

On Monday evening our crew carried out a Road Traffic Collision drill.

The scenario was that a car had overturned with 2 casualties trapped inside it, one side of the car was wedged against a tree which limited our access and extrication options. Our crew used a phased approach to stabilise the vehicle, assess the condition of the “casualties” and then extricated them with different forms of cutting and spreading equipment.

Every RTC that we attend is unique and training with specific staged scenarios is useful for us to maintain our skills.

This could be your car!

Marlborough Fire Station are holding a car wash on Saturday 20th June from 09:00-13:00. Donations for washes will be going towards the Fire Fighters Charity, which supports current and former Fire Service Personnel.

In the early hours of this morning (27/05/2026) we were mobilised to gain entry for the Ambulance Service in Marlborough.

If Ambulance crews are unable to access a property to reach a patient then they often request us to gain entry for them which we can do through a number of different methods.

We’re currently recruiting on-call Firefighters at Marlborough Fire Station. Our station is solely on-call meaning that you will be at the frontline of emergencies in Marlborough and surrounding areas, and you will frequently have the opportunity to make a difference in our community while being paid to do so.

This morning the Marlborough crew were mobilised to a 3 vehicle Road Traffic Collision in Whittonditch along with a crew from Hungerford Fire Station.

On arrival crews worked with the Ambulance Service to provide immediate emergency care to the casualties involved, as well as using our Environment Agency equipment to soak up fluid which had spilled from the engine of one of the vehicles involved.

We are currently recruiting on-call Firefighters here Marlborough Fire Station, the role is paid and flexible, fitting around your commitments.

This evening FF Mundy and FF Lamagna attended a development session run by CM Atkinson and FF Underwood.

Development sessions are an opportunity for Development Firefighters to prepare training for their peers to support their learning, and it’s one of the ways we support newer members of our crew to gain skills and knowledge.

In addition to this, Development Firefighters attend specific training courses and assessments at the Service Training Centre, attend Development Hubs and also gain on the job experience while responding to emergencies. Both FF Mundy and FF Lamagna have attended a number of significant incidents with us since joining as they continue to progress.

Yesterday evening at our drill session we did some training on new branch techniques being adopted by DWFireRescue.

The evening was based on theoretical understanding and practical ex*****on of these techniques.

Yesterday crews from Marlborough , Pewsey Fire Station and Newbury were called to the village hall in Burbage with reports of smoke coming from the rear of the property.

Upon arrival a fire was discovered behind some of the external cladding. This was extinguished using 2 breathing apparatus a hose reel jet and small tools.

Thankfully this was spotted by a member of the public early enough that it hadn’t spread to any more of the building. Crews used our PPV fans to clear any smoke inside the property

Crews responded to reports of an alarm activation in Froxfield, thankfully this was a false alarm.

This afternoon we were called to a fire involving discarded BBQ’s and bushes in Savernake Forrest.

Thankfully this was spotted early enough by a member of the public before it could spread.

As we enter the summer months we urge people to be careful when using disposable BBQ’s. Careless disposal can lead to much larger incidents and even major incidents that we have seen in Dorset in recent years.

🔥 Late yesterday afternoon Marlborough’s appliance was mobilised to a serious house fire in Wroughton. Marlborough spent several hours on the scene battling the fire alongside crews from a number of other stations, with some of our crew being deployed wearing Breathing Apparatus. We returned to our home station at approximately 21:00.

🚒 This morning at 03:00 we were mobilised again, this time for Standby Duties at Swindon Fire Station to provide cover while Swindon’s crews were at another incident. We are now back at home station and as always are ready for the next incident.
