Your local Neighbourhood Policing Team has been busy working across the area this month.
Here’s a snapshot of some of the activity carried out by your local officers:

✅ Assist in the arrest and transportation of a suspect breaching the Dispersal Order placed in the Market Place, Devizes.
✅ Dealt with a drunk male in Marlborough High Street causing issues to passers by.
✅ Arrest made for breach of PSPO in the Market Place, Devizes.
✅ Baydon Post Office drop in, discussed concerns with locals.
✅ Consultation at the Owl, Bromham - Spoke with locals.
✅ Assisted with a training exercise of new recruits around Devizes Town Centre.
✅ Attended Floaty Boaty Fair at Honeystreet and Spoke with visitors.
✅ Conducted rural patrols throughout Pewsey & Marlborough, assisted with patrols relating to recent Hare Coursing in the area.
✅ Assisted Response colleagues with RTCs across the county, conducting traffic control.
✅ Attended Woodborough Garden Centre and discussed with the public about crime prevention, antisocial behaviour and early intervention.
✅ Conducted regular patrols of The Market Place, ensuring the PSPO is being upheld. Dealing with any breaches.
❌ If you see anyone breaching the current PSPO, please call 101 and give as much detail as possible in regards to number of people, whether they are drinking alcohol, descriptions of individuals and whereabouts they are located.❌

The family of a man who died in a collision in Chiseldon on 11th August have paid tribute to him, saying he “always had a sparkle in his eye”.

David Oliver, 60, a former tree surgeon from Marlborough, died when the motorcycle he was riding was involved in a collision with a Volvo at the junction between Draycott Road and The Ridgeway.

In a moving tribute, his family said: “It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of David, a much-loved member of our family.

“We are sincerely grateful to everyone who has supported us during this difficult time, and to those who provided David with immediate care during the incident.

“David always had a sparkle in his eye and a remarkable ability to find humour, even in the gloomiest of situations.

“He was a kind man whose sense of adventure and bravery will forever be remembered.

“David loved his family dearly and found great joy in the companionship of his dogs.

“The sense of loss we feel is difficult to put into words. His absence is deeply felt, and he will be missed by so many people.”

PC Rockley would like to remind the community that, although the weather is hot and our homes can become very warm, it’s important to keep windows and doors secure when leaving the house.

This is a reminder to everyone that although this hot weather can make it tempting to leave windows open, this can provide an easy opportunity for criminals to enter your property and take belongings without you realising.

Please take a few extra moments to check your windows and doors are secure before heading out.

Your local Neighbourhood Policing Team has been busy working across the area this week.

Here’s a snapshot of some of the activity carried out by your local officers:

✅ Arrested an outstanding suspect for 5 retail thefts in the Marlborough area.
✅ Preserved a crime scene to support the integrity of an ongoing investigation.
✅ Conducted many miles of high-visibility patrols in and around the villages of: Market Lavington, Urchfont & Pewsey.
✅ Carried out reassurance patrols of a targeted address, offering the owner safety and security advice.
✅ Conduct foot patrols of Devizes Market Place & The Market on Thursday.
