National Trust Stonehenge Landscape 2100 acres of stunning chalk downland surrounding Stonehenge, containing some of the most important Neolithic and Bronze Age archaeology on the planet.

The National Trust owns and cares for 827 hectares (2,100 acres) of downland surrounding Stonehenge. Today thanks to our programme turning ploughed fields into pasture you can explore many of the World Heritage Site's most famous monuments - including the Avenue, Durrington Walls henge, the Cursus and a host of barrow cemeteries. Part of the Stonehenge & Avebury World Heritage Site.

Join our Archaeologist Dr Nick Snashall on Sunday 12 November and enjoy a walk through the Stonehenge Landscape as part of the Stonehenge Festival of Neolithic Ideas

There’s just two weeks to go until the start of our Festival of Neolithic Ideas! 👀

🕒 11th and 12th November, 10am – 5pm

We’re thrilled to have a great range of engaging activities, talks and demonstrations lined up. Experts will reveal how the latest advances in science and archaeology have developed our understanding of the people who built Stonehenge.

The Festival of Neolithic Ideas is a partnership between English Heritage and University of Cambridge Department of Archaeology.
