Minsters Rail Campaign Minsters Rail Campaign - A group campaigning to reinstate the Beverley to York rail line to ease road congestion. This line can be rebuilt.

There used to be a direct rail link between York and Beverley, passing through Stamford Bridge, Pocklington and Market Weighton. The benefits would be a quicker journey between Hull and York, a safer, more comfortable journey from towns in East Yorkshire through to York and beyond. Rail transport is more environmentally friendly than road transport, and the A166 and A1079 are known for accidents a

nd traffic jams. Making these roads wider and straighter would be less cost effective than building the Minster to Minster Rail Link.
