Report crime or make a complaint online at https://www.lincs.police.uk/ or call 101. We reserve the right to remove comments and block you if we feel you offend, intimidate, hurt, or deliberately provoke specific people or groups of people. We welcome open debate; we welcome free speech that allows you to articulate their opinions without fear of retaliation. But we do not welcome discourse from a

nyone who does not respect and live by those same principles. We live in a society where freedom of speech is a right, but if you abuse that right you can expect to be sanctioned. If anything you post tips the balance towards hate speech – this is defined as anything public that expresses hate or encourages violence towards a person or group based on something such as race, religion, age, s*x, nationality, ethnicity, disability, or s*xual orientation – or that post anything that threatens, incites, or encourages hatred or violence in any way, we may record this as a crime and investigate you in the same way we would as if this had happened on the street. Be aware of what you post, be mindful of how others may receive it, and, above all, be kind to one another. Thank you. To protect the integrity of our investigation and out of respect for the family affected, we are issuing a clear warning to anyone who has shared, reposted, or engaged with this content to stop immediately.

We are aware that CCTV footage relating to the death of Danny Fowler in Market Rasen, is being circulated on social media. We believe this to be privately owned footage that has been shared by a member of the public and is not from a public service organisation or agency.

The sharing of this material poses a significant risk to the integrity of our ongoing investigation. Furthermore, at the heart of this investigation, is a grieving family who should not be confronted with such material online.

Legal proceedings are active, and four individuals have been charged in connection with this incident.

You can read our update here: https://www.lincs.police.uk/news/lincolnshire/news/2026/mar/man-dies-after-being-found-with-suspected-stab-wounds-in-market-rasen/

The investigation remains active and ongoing.

Sharing CCTV extracts may amount to contempt of court, an offence that can carry a penalty of up to two years’ imprisonment and/or a fine.

We are deeply concerned by the circulation of this footage- Beyond risking to jeopardise our investigation, this causes additional distress to the grieving family of the victim.

To protect the integrity of our investigation and out of respect for the family affected, we are issuing a clear warning to anyone who has shared, reposted, or engaged with this content to stop immediately.

We are urging residents to remain vigilant following reports of rural burglaries and suspicious circumstances in the past week in villages surrounding Market Rasen.

We have received reports of burglaries from farms and outbuildings that were left unlocked. We are also aware of reports of individuals trying house door handles.

Follow this advice to protect your home from crime:
- Ensure that your home and outbuildings are secured and locked whenever you leave it. Close and lock all your doors and windows, even if you’re only going out for a few minutes.
- ‘Double Secure your Door’. Modern multi-locking and uPVC doors use a system of hooks and latches to secure the door, but these only work if you lift the handle and then remember to turn and remove the key. Remember LIFT. LOCK. REMOVE.
- If you can, make sure to property mark your items and take photographs of them. You can also register any item that has a serial number with the national property register Immobilise: https://www.immobilise.com/
- Alarm it. Consider an alarm for your property or a battery-operated alarm for sheds and outbuildings. These can look lowkey, however they respond to movement and door contact with a loud siren. You can also consider motion censored CCTV and security lighting.

Is it an emergency? Call 999 in emergency situations like these:
- There is an immediate danger to life
- Someone is using violence or is threatening to be violent
- A crime is happening right now, like a house burglary or a theft
- The suspect is still at the scene

If it's not an emergency:
If you’ve witnessed or been the victim of crime that isn't an emergency, please report it to us on 101 or online. Your report will be sent direct to our control room.
