What a (first) week - loved the Townhall engagement on Wed, meeting my 1* CF counter parts at MOD tues, and continued learning/discussion throughout, cumulating in arrival chats with AOC friday.

A warm welcome to the new Commandant Air Cadets Air Commodore Al Lewis.

Former OC LASER Region, the Air Commodore brings a fresh start to our awesome organisation, and has hit the ground running supporting and recognising our volunteers from day one.

We very much look forward to working with you Sir!

After the celebration of excellence at RAFAC’s annual awards, a welcome into post (day one Monday) from AOC 22Gp.

A hearty congratulations to the newly appointed Commandant Air Cadets from everyone at 1084.

Following a thorough selection process, we are pleased to announce Group Captain Al Lewis will be appointed Commandant RAF Air Cadets in the rank of Air Commodore, effective 23 September 2024.

Gp Capt Lewis succeeds Air Commodore Tony Keeling OBE, who is retiring from the Service. Gp Capt Lewis is currently Commandant of London & South East Region RAFAC, and the process to identify a successor for this role is underway.

Gp Capt Lewis said, “I have been humbled by the support over past months and thrilled to be appointed into the prestigious role as Commandant RAFAC. As someone who is hugely passionate about the way our outputs change the lives of cadets, I am honoured to lead its dedicated volunteers and permanent staff who deliver so much for our cadets.

Another fantastic year at for the teams, with lots of interesting vehicles and displays to look at, as well as far too many tempting things to buy. A big thank you to the team at Operation MH for having us along, and for their very generous donation to the squadron, which will help us to invest in the futures of our fantastic cadets.

Last weekend saw Sgt Middleton and FS Singer at a Wing led course, which we are very proud to say they passed, of course!!!

Yesterday 1084 Market Harborough squadron RAF Air Cadets came together to celebrate the formation of the Air Training Corps, now 83 years young and going from strength to strength.

37 of our cadets attended, with four giving readings, and our Padre Philip John Charles Clements leading the lovely service.

At the end, we recognised the hard work and engagement of some of our cadets and NCOs, with a well deserved round of promotions.
