Can I take a moment to thank all that attended our crime prevention day part of our .
We certainly handed out a significant amount of freebies to help make those we spoke to a little bit safer in their home.
Can I also thank Sarah Simms one of your town councillors who invited myself and PCSO Lucy Brown to come and chat to one of her groups about keeping safe and answer any questions they might have.

Wanted male arrested for 30 offences including multiple shop thefts, assault and racially aggravated public order

On Tuesday the local Safer Streets Team dealt with a male who was arrested for a total of 30 offences that occurred over the last month across Leicester.

๐Ÿ‘ฎA massive shout out to D shift officers who caught the male in the act when attempting to commit another theft in a store in Wigston, early that morning.

With him safely delivered to custody the Safer Streets Team completed enquiries and interviewed the male. We then set to work on sending the case to the CPS, who authorised charges for:

โœ… Attempt Robbery
โœ… Racially aggravated harassment
โœ… Assault to the level of actual bodily harm
โœ… A series of thefts spanning from 19th of May to 15th June 2026

โš–๏ธIn the early hours of Wednesday morning the male was charged and remanded to court where he has been further remanded pending a trail.

โ˜Ž๏ธ Again we want to encourage any store being impacted by theft to report the matters to us, as we will target those causing the most harm to our stores and wider community.

This evening the local neighbourhood team was joined by P.C. 4627 McClean as part of Neighbourhood Policing week.
As part of the duties for the evening we looked to visit and engage with as many components of the community as could in line with topical reports
- Hard to reach communities visited after they asked for help with legal documents
- Victims and suspects of crime visited to look to bring issues to a resolution
- Ongoing management of offenders

By looking to target our time in these topical incidents it allows officers to gather evidence and intelligence to benefit our communities

We have visited Ullesthorpe, Croft Way in Broughton Astley and Station Road / Broughton Way in Broughton Astley.

Whilst checking vehicles in these areas, all bar 1 complied with the speed limit - that 1 driver will be issued paperwork to answer for this offence as they were travelling 41MPH in a 30MPH zone ๐Ÿš”

We have a number of other locations we are looking to attend and if there are others, please let us know ๐Ÿ‘โ€ผ๏ธ

Following comments on our previous post, officers have followed up on enquiries and have now identified a second stolen caravan.

Weโ€™re pleased to confirm this has been successfully recovered and is now being returned to its rightful owner.

This highlights the value of community information and engagement.

We will continue to act on intelligence to tackle vehicle crime across the Lutterworth and Broughton Astley area.

Neighbourhood Action Week Update ๐Ÿš”

This morning, officers responded swiftly after a resident woke to find her caravan had been stolen from her driveway at around 7am.

Thanks to a prompt report and good information provided by the victim, officers located the caravan within two hours. By 8:50am, a male believed to be linked to the theft had been arrested. Officers also seized a vehicle believed to have been used in the commission of the offence.
The suspect remains in police custody while enquiries continue.

Vehicle crime remains a priority for the Lutterworth and Broughton Astley Neighbourhood Team, and we will continue to take robust action to protect our communities.

If you have any information about vehicle crime in your area, please report it to us.
