Local Flood Water Alarm System
Lincolnshire County Council as part of its Project Groundwater project has installed telemetry devices in rivers and ordinary watercourses across flood-prone areas of the county including in Mareham le Fen. There are 62 places across Lincolnshire these local flood warning systems have been installed. These devices monitor local water levels in real time and trigger an alarm when certain water thresholds are reached so you will know if there is increased risk from local flooding (as happened during Storm Babet and Storm Henk in 2023-24). Don't wait for the next downpour - ACT NOW!

Residents can sign up for free to receive these local warnings by SMS text messages or email, helping them stay informed and take action if local water levels rise. Perhaps you have family or carers who need to know so ask them to register for the warnings.

Please visit the flood risk management webpage to get signed up for the Mareham le Fen warnings or for other villages and towns.

Before your tyres end up flatter than your first pancake attempt, give them a quick check.

Driving on under‑inflated tyres increases stopping distance, reduces steering control, and wastes fuel.
